When the filter is full it is cleaned by injecting fuel in No.7 and No.8 cylinders on the exhaust stroke. This unburnt fuel travels through the exhaust valve through the turbo’s and down to the DPF where it is burned to clean the soot from the filter. During this process it creates an EXTREME amount of heat which can lead to engine damage such as damaged pistons, cylinders, camshafts, engine bearings, lifters, and valve terrain. Removal of this system increases engine life, performance and drastically improves MPG.
- EGR- The EGR system recycles exhaust from the engine back into the intake. Before it is recycled back it is cooled in the EGR cooler. This cooler can leak due to EXTREME heat and cause engine damage such as hydro locking that may bend connecting rods. The EGR delete removes the coolers stopping exhaust from being recycled back into the intake.
- Tuner- The tuner is required to be able to Delete the EGR and DPF. It will also improve performance and MPG.
